BRERETON , ANDREW (or HENRY) JONES ( 1827 - 1885 , Andreas o Fôn ), writer .

Born in Anglesey , he was in business in Liverpool and afterwards (as a brewer ) at Mold . He wrote in various periodicals , frequented eisteddfodau , and edited the transactions of the Mold Cymreigyddion Eisteddfod of 1851 . In 1878 , a national testimonial to him was set on foot, but he diverted the money to the foundation of a scholarship at University College , Aberystwyth .
