BULKELEY-OWEN, FANNY MARY KATHERINE (1845-1927), author; the only daughter of J. R. Ormsby-Gore (1816-1876), 1st baron Harlech (see under Wynn and Owen families, of Brogyntyn). She was first m. in 1863 to the Hon. Lloyd Kenyon (d. 1865); their son, Lloyd, succeeded his grandfather in 1869 as 4th baron Kenyon (see under Kenyon). Her second marriage in 1880 was to the Reverend Thomas Mainwaring Bulkeley-Owen, of Tedsmore, West Felton (d. 1910). Mrs. Bulkeley-Owen took an active interest in Welsh cultural movements and received the bardic title of Gwenrhian Gwynedd. In 1927 she published a history of the parish of Selattyn (Oswestry, n.d.) which includes the Ormsby-Gore seat of Brogyntyn. She also supplied the Welsh Land Commission in 1894 with a detailed memorandum on the history of Maelor Saesneg. She d. 25 Nov. 1927 at Shrewsbury.
