EDWARDS, EVAN (1734-1766), harpist; b. at Creigiau'r Bleiddiau, Cerrig-y-drudion. He was an able harpist of whom Edward Jones (Bardd y Brenin, 1752-1824, q.v.) says that he had a natural gift for music and had a beautiful touch on the harp. There is a local tradition that he d. suddenly with his fingers still clutching the harp-strings. He d. in June 1766 and was buried in Cerrig-y-drudion churchyard.
