EDWARDS , ROBERT ( Robin Ddu o Feirion ; 1775 - 1805 ), poet and antiquary ,

a native of Trawsfynydd, Mer. Examples of his work are to be found in Corff y Gainc , 1810 , namely his englyn , ‘ Cyffes y Bardd ’ and ‘ Cywydd Marwnad Rowland Huw, bardd o'r Graienyn gerllaw'r Bala, 1802 .’ [= Rolant Huw , q.v. ] Seren Gomer for the year 1835 , 275, contains his stanzas ‘ Gofal Duw .’ Memorial stanzas to him by Gutyn Peris ( GRIFFITH WILLIAMS , 1769 - 1838 , q.v.) are contained in Corff y Gainc , and on his gravestone there are twelve stanzas by the same author. He is referred to on his gravestone as ‘a diligent researcher ,’ and he is known to have been a collector of manuscripts . He d. 18 Feb. 1805 and was buried at Trawsfynydd on the 21st.
