EVANS , EVAN ( fl. end of 18th cent. ), a skilful player on the triple harp .

After the death of John Parry ( 1710? - 1782 ) (q.v.) he was appointed family harpist at Wynnstay , the residence of the Williams Wynn family. Thomas Edwards ( Twm o'r Nant ) refers to his skill. His name appears as a subscriber to Edward Jones , Musical and Poetical Relicks of the Welsh Bards , as ‘ Mr. Evan Evans , Telynwr , Wynstay .’ It is thought that he d. at Wynnstay .
