Born 30 November 1827 in London. He moved when very young with his parents to the Tregaron, Cardiganshire, district. He began to preach at Swyddffynnon c. 1834. He was educated at Ystrad Meurig, Accrington Academy, and the University of Glasgow, and ministered at Grosvenor Street, Manchester, 1851-8, and Greenfield, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, 1858-70. He was editor of the Llanelly Telegraph, 1860-7; he also published Memoirs of Christmas Evans. He died 31 January 1870.
