GRIFFITH , WILLIAM ( 1704 - 1747 ), early Welsh Moravian (one of the original members of the London Moravian congregation) ;

b. at Penmorfa, Caerns. , Feb. 1704 (possibly 1703) . When a shoemaker in London , he became a Methodist , but by 1742 had joined the Moravians . In 1743 he was sent on a visit to Wales , and seems to have been the first Moravian missioner in Pembrokeshire . After holding various offices in the Brethren's church in London , he d. while on a visit to Germany , at the very end of 1747 .
