GWILYM ap IEUAN HEN ( fl. c. 1440-1480 ), a poet

of whose life no details remain, although many of his poems are found in manuscripts. These include a poem in praise of the Virgin Mary ( N.L.W. MS. 6681 (381) ) and another to the ‘ Four Daughters of the Trinity ’ ( N.L.W. MS. 1578 (71) ), love poems ( Gwysaney MS. 25 (201) ; N.L.W. MS. 5269 (211) ); Wynnstay MS. 6 (170) ), others addressed to Gruffudd ap Nicolas of Dynevor ( N.L.W. MS. 6511 (194b) ), Dafydd ap Ieuan ab Owain of Caereinion ( Brogyntyn MS. 1 (128) ), and Dafydd Llwyd ap Dafydd ab Einion of Newtown ( N.L.W. Add.
