HUWS , MORIEN MON ( Morien Môn ; 1856 - 1932 ), Nonconformist minister and poet ;

b. at Amlwch , Anglesey , 10 Aug. 1856 , he was educated at Rhos-y-bol school in that county when Sir John Rhys (q.v.) was its headmaster . He began to preach when he was seventeen; he also, in early youth, began to win prizes in eisteddfodau . He emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1880 , became a member of the Congregational Association in Oneida County , New York State , and pastor of Peniel church , Remsen , in the same state. In 1899 he joined the Calvinistic Methodists in the New York Association ; in 1911 , however, he rejoined the Congregationalists , and became minister at Pittston , Pennsylvania . He contributed much over a period of fifty years to Welsh-American journals and to Y Drych . He d. 27 Nov. 1932 at Stittsville, N.Y. , and was buried at Fairfield , near Remsen, N.Y.
