HYWEL ap LLYWELYN ap MAREDUDD ( fl. c. 1500? ), poet ;

a native of Cyfeiliog . Two examples of his work have been found in manuscript, these being elegies upon members of the landed families of Carno and Manafon, Mont. A genealogical manuscript in the hand of Gruffudd Hiraethog ( Pen. MS. 176 ) acknowledges a similar manuscript of Hywel 's, but no existing example of the poet 's genealogical work is known at present.
