IEUAN TUDUR OWEN ( fl. c. 1627 ), a poet

of whose life nothing is known. Some of his work remains in manuscript, and this includes religious and moral cywyddau and englynion , a cywydd describing a dream the poet had when drunk, a cywydd on the palsy , and a cywydd of praise to Huw Nannau ( 1580 - 1620 , see the article on the family) when the latter became sheriff . In addition to this poetry written in strict metre, one of his poems in free metre is also to be found. The following manuscripts contain examples of his work: Bodewryd MS. 1 ; Cardiff MSS. 19, 47, 64, 66 ; Cwrtmawr MSS. 5, 244 ; Mostyn MS. 144 ; N.L.W. MSS. 643, 3487, 11816 .
