JONES , JOHN ( second half of the 18th cent. ), schoolmaster at Llanddeiniolen, Caerns., and poet .

Over eighty examples of poems by him are preserved in N.L.W. MS. 346 , these being in the form of cywyddau , englynion , carolau , and cerddi , dated variously between 1768 and 1786 and all in Welsh except the ‘ Election Song written on the Carnarvon Election ’ [ 1774 ].
