MAREDUDD ap RHOSER ( fl. c. 1530 ), a poet

who may have been a native of South Wales . No proof is available for connecting him, as Iolo Morganwg did, with Meisgyn ( Miskin ) in Glamorgan . Examples of his work exist in MSS., including a love poem, an awdl in praise of Ewyas , an elegy to Sir Charles Herbert , another to reconcile William Herbert of Colebrook with William Siôn ap Rhoser of Wern-ddu , and poems in praise of William Evans , chancellor and treasurer of Llandaff (q.v.) . Dafydd Benwyn (q.v.) , in his elegy to the poet , refers to the poems he composed to the chancellor .
