MARKS , DAVID ( 1788 - 1871 ), musician ;

b. in the parish of Cilrhedyn, Carms. By trade a stonemason , he was also a competent musician who performed good service to the community by holding music classes in various districts . Two of his hymn-tunes, ‘ Cannon Street ’ and ‘ Manchester ,’ were published in Haleliwia Drachefn , 1855 . He d. 3 Oct. 1871 at Ffynnondrain , parish of Newchurch , near Carmarthen .
