MARKS, DAVID (1788-1871), musician; b. in the parish of Cilrhedyn, Carms. By trade a stonemason, he was also a competent musician who performed good service to the community by holding music classes in various districts. Two of his hymn-tunes, ‘Cannon Street’ and ‘Manchester,’ were published in Haleliwia Drachefn, 1855. He d. 3 Oct. 1871 at Ffynnondrain, parish of Newchurch, near Carmarthen.
