PARRY , DAVID ( 1760 - 1821 ), Calvinistic Methodist minister ;

b. 13 Feb. 1760 at Llwyndiriad , Caeo, Carms. , son of Dafydd Parry . As a young man, he joined the Methodists and began to preach in 1778 , after which he was a student at lady Huntingdon's college at Trevecka for a short time. In 1784 he m. Margaret Evans of Llofft-wen , Llanwrtyd , and c. 1797-8 went to live at Cilfach , Llanwrtyd . He was one of the first batch of ministers ordained by the Methodists at Llandeilo in 1811 . He was a very notable preacher and his services were frequently in demand at the Associations. He d. 27 April 1821 , and was buried inside Rhydybere chapel .
