PRICE , THOMAS ( 1809 - 1892 ), musician ;

b. 17 May 1809 at Builth , Brecknock . When he was a young man he moved to Crickhowell where he kept a shop , and was clerk to the board of guardians . He was appointed organist of Llangattock parish church , a post which he held for many years. He wrote several hymn-tunes and other musical pieces ; some hymn-tunes by him were published in Yr Arweinydd Cerddorol and Caniadau Seion ( R. Mills ). He is chiefly remembered as the composer of the hymn-tune called ‘ Cysur .’ He d. 7 March 1892 at Hereford , and was buried at S. Edmund's churchyard, Crickhowell .
