PRYS , SION (d. 1640? ), poet .

According to some of the manuscripts which contain his work, he was heir to the Caerddinen and Llwyn Ynn estates in Denbighshire . A large number of his poems remain, including cywyddau to Roland Jones of Llanferais , Siôn Wyn Lewys , Siôn Hope , William Wynn of Nercwys , Peter Wynn of Manechdid , a satirical poem to a tavern-keeper of Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd . A number of free-metre poems by him also remain, including a satire addressed to Siôn Grythor and a number of carols. He is reputed to have been buried in Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd churchyard in 1640 .
