His father is stated to have been a native of Sker near Porth-cawl, Glamorganshire, but cannot have owned the estate as the Loughors were in possession at that time. His discreditable life, which is described with full references in the D.N.B., is chiefly concerned with the Popish Plot, and his connection with Wales rests solely upon his ancestry. He died 18 December 1681.
