WILLIAMS , DAVID ( 1702 - 1779 ), early Welsh Moravian ;

b. in Llandwrog parish (Caerns.) , 2 Aug. 1702 . In 1728 at latest, he was a bookbinder in London . He and his wife joined the Moravian society in 1739 . She d. 5 Dec. 1766 , and at the end of 1767 he decided to return to his native region. It was he who brought Mrs. Alice Griffith (see Griffith , William , 1719 - 1782 ) into contact with Moravianism , and got David Mathias (q.v.) sent to north-west Wales . He d. between March and June 1779 .
