PENSON , RICHARD KYRKE ( DWB , 747).

He was b. 19 June 1815 , in Overton, Flints , not Oswestry . His mother was Frances (née Kirk ) and his wife was called Clara Maria . He lived at Cilyrychen , Llandybïe, Carms. , in 1871 .

PENSON , RICHARD KYRKE ( 1815? - 1885 ), architect ;

b. probably at Oswestry , son of Thomas Penson , county surveyor of Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire . Following in his father's footsteps, he became in 1857 county surveyor of Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire . He was also an antiquary ( F.S.A. , and a figure in the Cambrian Archaeological Association ), and a painter in water-colours . He was a great ‘ restorer ’ — he restored the mansion s of Dynevor and Bronwydd , and some two dozen churches in the old S. Davids diocese , besides erecting parsonages and schools . He d. at Ludlow 22 May 1885 ‘ in his 71st year .’
